MCG's TeleCare equipment is affordable and easy to use. It supports people who want to keep their independence and carry on living in their own homes. That's because the equipment we install makes it possible for us to get help to them quickly, should they need it — for example, if they have a fall or a health-related issue develops. This contributes enormously to the quality of their lives and that of their families and carers. The service we provide is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and we respond instantly to any alerts we receive.

TeleCare is normally used as part of a package of care services. It benefits:

  • Elderly, infirm or disabled people who are becoming progressively less stable
  • People who have recently been discharged from hospital and require additional support
  • Vulnerable people living alone and those at risk from bogus callers
  • Victims of domestic violence.

How does TeleCare work?


An extensive range of products has been developed to support the basic TeleCare service. These include property exit sensors, which monitor people leaving buildings at unusual times, and are useful for those with concerns about dementia sufferers, who may be prone to walking about. Medication dispensers, fall detectors, extreme temperature sensors and natural gas detectors can also be used to complement the basic TeleCare package. Many other products are also available.
